Hi, I wanted to pass on some information about a research project I'm undertaking in Cardiff, and to extend an invitation to its associated Exhibition this Spring.
I am currently undertaking an MA in Inclusive Arts Practice at the University of Brighton and have gained NHS Ethical Approval to undertake a research project in Cardiff. The project is being run at the Touch Trust in the Wales Millenium Centre. If you don't know about their inspirational work do have a look at their website http://www.touchtrust.org.uk
The project runs for 8 weeks and is based in the visual arts. We are working with adults who have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) who are collaborating with us to develop a practical framework for the project based on their choices and preferences. The direction we need to go in is communicated to us by the artists with the support of the care teams, and this informs us of the starting point for the next session. Artists are being supported to make artworks and develop an artistic process.
It's proving to be great fun, some very exciting art is being made and the energy is electric each week!
There will be an Inclusive Arts Exhibition and Screening on the 15th March in the Wales Millenium Centre from 12.00. Lunch is offered and the chance to network. The artists will be there to show you their work and we would love to see you!
If you'd like to come or to learn more about the project please get in touch by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or you can call me on 07540 377941.
